Reading Room

The Reading Room is a comfortable space dedicated to research and reading about history. Its initial focus is a comprehensive collection of school textbooks used throughout the years, many of them inscribed by students who attended Beaupré and other local one-room schools.

The Reading Room also houses a wide range of books reflecting local interests, e.g. cookbooks going back many decades, children’s books, popular novels.

The collection of local newspapers is a fascinating source of information (and gossip) about life around Onoway from the mid-1900s on.

Browsing through the collection of Life magazines is an intriguing insight into the lifestyle and culture of the same era.

The Reference Collection, comprised of local history books and Alberta history, can provide the answers to many questions.
