About the Guild

The Onoway and District Historical Guild was formally established in 2003.
Vision

The Onoway and District Museum is an integral part of the community and helps keep the community of Onoway and district vibrant and active in the present, and, at the same time, tells the story of Onoway and district, both past and present, through exhibits and interactive and engaging programs that inform, inspire and educate.

Mission

The Onoway and District Historical Guild preserves local history, strengthening the bonds between past and present through resources, exhibits and programs. The Guild provides a multi-use facility enabling community growth and enrichment.

Mandate

The Museum will collect, preserve, research, exhibit and interpret those artifacts and archival materials that become available to the Museum which are consistent with the Collections Management Policy of the Museum.

Accordingly, the Museum will serve the public by using its collection to provide a basis for its exhibits and educational programs, for research and study, and for culture and educational enrichment.

The Museum will encourage awareness and appreciation of our history through active involvement by community members.

The Heritage Centre will provide space on a lease or hourly rental basis to groups, organizations, clubs, families and instructors to provide opportunities for learning, self-improvement, group interaction and participation.
